Chana chaat can be an option as a quick brunch when we are busy or a bit lazy and even on holidays. It is healthy too. We can innovate the recipe by adding different fruits and vegetables every time.
Ingredients (2 servings)
- 100 gm Chana / White Chickpeas / Chole
- 1 Boiled Potato chopped
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1 Onion chopped
- 2-3 Green Chillies chopped
- 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp Pomegranate Seeds
- 1 Onion cut thin slices for rings
- 1 tsp Ginger grated
- 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Mango powder
- ½ tsp Cumin Powder
- ¼ tsp Black Salt
- 1 tsp Chaat Masala
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1¼ tsp Salt
Method
- Soak Chana overnight (6 hours). Wash thoroughly.
- In a cooker, add chana, add 1 tsp salt and 4 cups of water. Boil for 20-25 minutes i.e. till tender. Drain.
- Take a large bowl, add chana, potatoes, tomatoes, onion, green chillies. Now add ginger,red chilli powder, mango powder,cumin powder, black salt, chaat masala, lemon juice, ¼ tsp salt and mix well.
- Garnish with coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds and onion rings.
NOTE: In place of boiling chana in cooker, we can MICROWAVE it for 20-25 mins, till soft and tender. We can also use Black Chana.
