French toast when hot and steaming, is perfect for brunch, as well as making a delicious cold weather breakfast. Served with a sauce such as ketchup or mayonnaise.

Savory French Toast

Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Bread Slices -4
  • Eggs – 2
  • Milk – 2 tbsp
  • Onion – 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Green Chillies – 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  • Coriander Leaves – 1½ tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper Powder – to taste
  • Butter – for shallow frying

Method

  1. In a bowl beat eggs, add milk mix well.
  2. Add onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt and pepper and mix well.
  3. Gently melt the butter in a frying pan until it starts foaming.
  4. Dip the bread in the egg mixture to coat it on both sides, and put in the frying pan.
  5. Fry on both sides until golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
