Hiccups are a sudden, involuntary squeezing of the diaphragm, the main breathing muscle under the lungs results in sucking the air quickly into the lungs, resulting into snapping and shutting glottis above the voice-box (larynx). This snapping makes the sound of a hiccup.
Remedy for Hiccups
Take 1 tsp of sugar in your mouth and allow the sugar to dissolve slowly (don’t chew it). Then take a sip of water and you see that the hiccups will stop.
