Panchamrit is offered to gods in various religious occasions in Hindu culture. Panch means five in sanskrit and Amrit means nectar. It is a mixture of five foods mainly honey, sugar, milk, yogurt, and ghee.
Ingredients
- Fresh Curd – 2½ cups (450 gms)
- Raw Milk – ½ cup (100 gms)
- Sugar – ¼ cup (50 gms)
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Honey – 1tbsp
- Lotus Seeds (Makhana) – 20-25 (cut into 4 pieces)
- Basil Leaves – 10-12
- Water – ½ cup
Method
- Take curd in a bowl and whisk it well.
- Add milk, sugar, ghee, honey ,water and mix well.
- Add lotus seeds, basil leaves and mix well.
- Panchamrit is ready.
Significance of the ingredients of Panchamrit
- Milk is for the blessing of purity and devotion.
- Curd is for prosperity and progeny.
- Honey is for sweet speech.
- Ghee is for victory.
- Sugar is for happiness.
- Water is for purity.
NOTE:- You can use any dry fruits you like.
