Mix veg pakodas are prepared by mixing chopped onions, cauliflower, potatoes and any vegetable of your choice into gram flour. Vegetable pakodas are enjoyed in rainy season and winter evening with hot cup of tea.
Ingredients (3-4 servings)
- Gram Flour – 2 cups
- Potato – 1 (chopped)
- Onion – 1 (chopped)
- Cauliflower – 1 (chopped)
- Ajwain – ½tsp
- Red Chilli Powder – ¾tsp
- Hing – a pinch
- Salt – to taste
- Refined Oil – for frying
Method
- In a large bowl add potatoes, onions, cauliflower and mix together.
- Add gram flour, ajwain, chilli powder, hing, salt and mix nicely.
- Add little water to make a medium consistency batter.
- Heat oil in a kadai.
- Take a little portion at a time and gently drop 10 to 12 pakodas in the hot oil.
- Let them fry on medium heat till the pakodas are golden brown in colour. It takes about 8-10 minutes to fry the pakodas.
- Once done take them out and place them on the plate over the absorbent paper to remove the excess oil.
- Repeat the process until the batter is finished.
- Serve hot with tomato ketchup and coriander chutney.
