Mawa peda is a quick and easy sweet made of khoya flavoured with cardamom. This is very famous sweet/dessert in India.
Ingredients (15-16 pieces)
- Mawa/Khoya – 2 cup
- Powdered Sugar – ½ cup
- Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp+¼ tsp
- Almonds – 5-7 (powdered)
Method
- Combine khoya and sugar in a heavy bottomed or non stick pan and cook on a slow flame while stirring continuously.
- When the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture leaves the sides of the pan (approx 8-10 minutes), remove from the fire.
- Add ½ tsp cardamom powder and almonds and mix well.
- Allow to cool completely. Divide the mixture into 15-16 equal portions and shape into even sized rounds and press a little to give shape of peda.
- Garnish with ¼ tsp cardamom powder.
