Creamy Methi recipe is a restaurant-type dish with a little twist. This rich gravy is very healthy due to the presence of leafy vegetable methi. In this recipe, we will be using fresh methi leaves instead of dried ones. This will help us get a better and fresh flavor of methi.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Methi Leaves chopped
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- ½ tsp Coriander Seeds
- ¼ tsp Red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- ½ tsp Garam masala
- Salt – to taste
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 1 Green Chillies finely chopped
- 1 Tomato pureed
- ¼ cup Cream
- ½ cup Water
Instructions
- Heat oil in a kadai. Add asafetida, cumin seeds, when the seeds starts crackling add coriander seeds and sauté for a minute.
- Add green chillies, onion and sauté till onion is pinkish in colour.
- Add tomato puree, sauté for 3- 4 minutes.
- Add red chilli powder, coriander Powder, turmeric powder and keep stirring for a minute.
- Now add methi leaves, mix well and cook for a minute.
- Now add water, salt and let it on simmer for 3-4 minutes, so that methi leaves get cooked.
- Add garam masala. Mix.
- Lastly add cream and cook on low flame for a minute.
- Creamy methi is ready to serve.
- NOTE:- If you add malai in place of cream, add only 2 tbsp of malai.
