Raw papaya salad is a sweet and hot classic Thai salad of raw papaya, tomatoes and cucumber in a nutty tamarind and chilli dressing. This brings out the goodness of raw papayas in this salad recipe.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Raw Papaya thickly grated
- 3-4 Green/Red Chillies pounded
- ¼ cup Roasted Peanuts crushed
- 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves chopped
- 1 Tomato finely chopped
- ¼ cup Cucumber thinly sliced
For Dressing
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- ½ tbsp Tamarind paste
- 1 tbsp Light Soya Sauce
- 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar
- ¼ tsp Red Chilli Flakes
- 1 flake Garlic pounded (optional)
- Salt - to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together all the dressing ingredients and keep aside.
- In a bowl add papaya, chillies, coriander, tomato, cucumber all together. Mix well.
- Before serving mix the dressing and half of the peanuts. Slightly toss.
- Serve chilled topped with rest of the peanuts.
